Rachel Galati (She/Her) is a San Diego native and seasoned stylist with over a decade of experience behind the chair. Her passion for hair started early—cutting Barbie hair and styling her high school friends—and evolved into a career focused on short, creative cuts and expressive color.

Now based in Los Angeles while working in film and TV hair, Rachel still operates her beloved Encinitas salon suite, specializing in short haircuts and bold, personalized styles for all textures. She combines precision and straight razor techniques to craft low-maintenance shapes that grow out effortlessly and reflect each client’s individuality.

Rachel enhances her cuts with gentle, ammonia-free color—ranging from soft blondes and rich brunettes to vivids and platinums—always prioritizing hair health and authenticity. She also champions clean beauty, inspired by early education from Aveda founder Horst Rechelbacher, and exclusively uses low-tox, sustainable products from independent brands.

Her business model is inclusive and equitable: hourly pricing based on time, not gender, and always gratuity-free—designed to challenge outdated norms and foster a welcoming, judgment-free space.

When not behind the chair or managing her salon from afar, Rachel enjoys working with wigs at Universal Studios, collaborating on creative shoots, and exploring LA with her three cats and dog, Scout.
