Rachel (She/Her) is a San Diego native whose passion for hair began long before her professional journey started in 2010—experimenting with Barbie dolls and styling her high school friends in the emo and glam punk scenes. Today, she’s a seasoned stylist with a distinctive creative edge, specializing in short haircuts and vibrant, expressive styles.

Now based in Los Angeles as she expands into the world of film hair, Rachel remains deeply connected to her roots, continuing to serve her cherished clients at her salon suite in Encinitas. As a short, creative hair specialist, she’s devoted to crafting both unconventional and classic silhouettes for all textures—focusing on cuts from the shoulders up that help clients feel aligned with their inner identity.

Rachel combines the principles of precision cutting with the artistry of straight razor techniques to offer shapes that grow out beautifully and solve everyday styling challenges. She complements these cuts with gentle, ammonia-free color—platinums, brunettes, reds, and vivids alike—that enhance the uniqueness of each look.

Early in her career, Rachel had the rare opportunity to learn directly from Aveda founder Horst Rechelbacher on his organic farm, gaining insights into clean beauty and the importance of ingredient integrity. That experience inspired her ongoing commitment to low-tox, sustainable product options and client education, partnering with independent, professional brands that share her values.

She proudly offers a simplified, hourly, all-inclusive service menu—priced by time, not gender identity—and operates as a gratuity-free stylist. This approach reflects her dedication to breaking outdated industry norms rooted in racism, classism, and sexism, and instead creating a more equitable, inclusive space for all.

When she’s not behind the chair or running her Encinitas business remotely, Rachel can be found styling seasonal wigs at Universal Studios, researching historical hair, and exploring creative inspiration throughout Los Angeles. She shares her adventures with her three cats—Atticus, Cirillia, and Mr. Knightly—and her beloved dog, Scout.
